HERNIATED DISC / BULGING DISC

  • Accumulation of nuclear pulp underneath the annular rings causes the annulus to “bulge” pinching the nerves.
  • If the annulus remains intact it’s called “Contained Herniation”
  • If the pulp “oozes out” through a disrupted  annulus it’s called “Uncontained or Extruded Herniation“
